Wayne was loved by all who knew him! A loving husband and an incredible dad to Rebecca and our fur babies Poppy and Lily-Rose.
He was funny, caring and one of a kind with a love for football, fishing and keeping on top of his garden.
He will be remembered and loved by all that knew him❤️

One of my first memories of Wayne is of when he was a young paperboy for my dad, Stewart Eggenton (Stewart’s News), and dad was literally chasing him down the street, before physically putting him on the school bus as he was planning on “wagging it” that day. Wayne would later say that he got off the bus at the next stop, but dad always hoped that was just Waynes usual cheekiness or bravado?! Either way a lasting bond was formed. Wayne gradually moved on from delivering papers to collecting money from customers, always happy, polite and 100% trustworthy, there was never a penny discrepancy at the end of the day. He also moved on from being an employee to becoming part of the family, and in time Rebecca and Hayley would join the clan. Wayne was in close contact with mum and dad throughout all his struggles and braveness, right to the end of his heartbreaking battle, even though they retired to Spain 18 years ago. My dad and Wayne had many shared interests, family, gardening, fishponds, and of course their beloved Sheffield Wednesday!! I remember an early Christmas when mum and dad bought Wayne his first Sheffield Wednesday shirt, I have never seen a smile so big! We are all so proud for the loving, kind, and generous man that he became. My love and thoughts are with Rebecca and Hayley.

Wayne was a truly special soul, a man whose humor and loveable nature left an indelible mark on those lucky enough to know him. Caring for him during those quiet night sits became so much more than a job; it was a time of shared laughter and genuine connection, often anchored by your mutual love for movies like Clarkson's Farm. The warmth he radiated was mirrored by his wonderful family; his wife Hayley and daughter Rebecca embraced you with such kindness that you truly felt like one of their own. Wayne’s passing leaves a void, but the memory of his quick wit and the "family" bond you shared with the people he loved most remains a beautiful testament to the man he was. Rest in eternal peace Wayne. Lots of love, Rachel 💙💙
