Ian Howard
1942 - 2024 | Sheffield
In loving memory of Ian, a dearly loved husband, father, taid, brother, cousin and friend. St Luke's were truly helpful after Ian had a stroke in 2017. For several weeks, they collected him and looked after him for the day, in all sorts of ways. They were lovely and he loved it. He was part of the Life Story Project, where he was able to record his story in his own words; something we will all treasure.

Thoughts and Donations
Ian was one of my lecturers at Sheffield in 1990-1994. He inspired me at an early age and has been in my thoughts over the years since. He had a fascinating, engaging style with a great sense of humour with a dry wit. Rest in peace Ian.

Ian and I worked together in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield. He was director of undergraduate studies when I joined as a young lecturer in 1994. He was a kind of unofficial mentor at that time, helping me get to grips with a challenging new job. There was a lively social group and we had lunch together most days in the staff room. Complaining about the students and talking about trains mostly. I once bit into a tomato and the juice squirted all over Ian's shirt. I miss those days. Thank you and God bless you Ian, may you rest in peace.
