My mum was a truly wonderful person. She was loved by everyone who met her.
She spent her life always giving and putting others first. Nothing was ever too much trouble. She was our rock.
She gave her life to look after my dad. By the time we got the cancer diagnosis it was too late for her.
We had 6 months with her before St Luke's took over her care. She was loved and cared for by everyone there and I cannot thank them enough for making my mum feel very special.
She passed away with dignity and free of pain.
Sleep tight mum.

Gone but never forgotten

As a ten year old I often left school in the afternoon, running across the road to Sheila's place to find Mrs Haigh on the front porch waiting for Sheila and I, with a welcoming smile. She was there to make sure that I was not bullied on the way. (New kid in the class). Mrs Haigh was the one who helped me to cut out my first home made dress and helped me to sew it too. It was always lovely to pop in to see her on my visits back to the UK and receive her hospitality and have a chat. Thank you for your warm heart, care and cup of tea when I needed them.
