We have set up this tribute page in honour of our mum who sadly lost her short battle with cancer in August 2016. Words can't express how devastated we all are, but we want to try and celebrate her life and continue to remember how amazing she was as a wife, mum and friend. We would appreciate anyone leaving memories/messages/photos and/or donations to St Luke's Hospice who were fantastic and helped mum in her last few weeks

Miss you mum!! It doesn't get any easier! Although some days are better than others, there are also really hard days too. Finding it tough this week and could really do with your advice. ❤️❤️ I'll look for a sign. Love you xxxxxx

Back on the run up to another Christmas! I would like to say it gets easier without you but it doesn't :( On Saturday I went in to town for Christmas shopping, it made me miss you so much and our shopping days out. I saw so many mums and daughters out together and I just feel it's so unfair that we can't do that anymore. Love you loads and miss you forever xxxxxxxx

Miss you so much Mum. Still doesn't seem to sink in properly. I'm just making some yorkshire puddings with your recipe and wish I could ring you and tell you how they turn it out. It always seems to be the smallest things. Love you forever I'm so lost without you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm remembering all the fun and laughter we shared because that's what I loved so much about our friendship. Very recently I was mistaken for a dietician .. Lynne and I were in gales of laughter at the thought of me being mistaken for someone who can advise people on how to eat and drink healthily... Anyone who knows me will understand just how hilarious that is, and for those who don't, one of my family mottos is 'Never knowingly under catered'... It was so amazing to share that laughter with Lynne.xx

I have known Lynne for 44 years. We went to school, saw each other marry, raised our families who are grown now, shared a name and shared a successful career in the Civil service. Through Lynne we met dear friends Lynn and Ian Wood, who have been such a rock, I know, through the last weeks.....love to the Woods too. John, you raised 2 beautiful girls. Emma and Alice, we are all here, if ever you need anything. Nothing can replace Lynne but we were lucky to know her, share the precious times we had together and I am lucky to call her my friend.

I still can't believe you've gone mum. I keep going to shout you or text you and then remember you're not here. Life has changed so much, not only have I lost my mum - I've lost my best friend. I'm trying so hard to be brave and positive but inside I'm so hurt and worried. I love you with all my heart and will miss you everyday. Xxxxxxxxx

This past week has just gone so fast I feel like today is the first day I've had chance to sit back and let everything sink in. I am so sad that I will never see you again and I miss you so so much I can't imagine how the rest of my life will be without you. What I do know though is how happy I am that you were my mum and words can never justify the love I feel for you. My heart is so broken and it always will be a little bit, all I keep hearing is things will get easier and I'm sure they will with time but I don't want time to carry on moving so fast. You are and always will be in my heart and I promise I will keep talking to you and letting you know of all my funny stories from teaching and asking for your advice. I know that you will send a sign when I need one. I am trying so hard to be strong like you told me to be, and I promise I will have a drink (or 2) with my friends on holiday for you. Love you forever and always mummy my guardian angel now xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lynne was our friend for 35 years and our families have grown up together - The Fordies & The Woodies AKA The Dingles. The memories are endless but each and every one of them are so very happy, full of fun and laughter. Lynne, John, Emma & Alice have been part of our lives and they are so very loved by us, Lynn, Ian, Becky & Lois xxxx Ocho my lovely friend x

Lynne and I first met when her brilliant daughters Emma and Alice were performing with Stannington Players. We used to chat on the SL2 bus and the tram on the way to work. Lynne was a fantastic person, so full of life, so optimistic and I really enjoyed our conversations. She loved her husband John, and her girls and was so proud of them. I will really miss her.

Added by Shirley Quinn - 21/08/2016

We shared so many things over the years. I was just thinking about the worst training course we ever went on in Eastbourne, and Lynne as always kept me sane. Pleased to say that we didn't resort to skinny dipping though.... Unlike some of the others.... We had more class. Love you Lynne ??

Such a lovely woman who will be missed lots by everyone. I have so many memories of being at yours, it was my second home especially in the 6 weeks holidays! Thank you for getting me into ice hockey, all those years spent drooling over the players! I'm so glad I got to see you at ice hockey in may and have a catch up with you. Sleep tight. Lots of love xx
