Freda's husband Gil, our much missed dad was cared for and made comfortable in his last days by the team at St Luke's Hospice in Sheffield.
For some years afterwards Mother raised funds to support the work of St Luke's, who also visited her in the spring of this year after her diagnosis before she passed away on Easter Monday.
So instead of sending cards or buying flowers please remember Freda in your own way and consider a donation to St Luke's on her behalf.
Thank You
Andrew, Richard & Claire

I knew Freda when I moved nearby over 30 years ago. Always ready with a smile and a chat, often about her lovely colourful front garden, which I still think of as "Freda's garden".

I worked with Freda in the Accounts Dpt. at Abrafact. My son was only 9 when I first started there, and he is 59 in May.I was at Abrafract for a good while. Freda was an absolute gem. She was so kind, helpful and a really good friend. She was a true Christian lady.We have been sending Christmas cards to each other for years. I cant remember whether I sent her one last year, but I know Freda sent me one. I am so glad she was part of my life when we were at Abrafact and glad we sent our Christmas cards to each other. I will be thinking about you all. God bless. Maureen

I first got to know Freda in 1953 when I started work at Abrafract at Owlerton. She was very well-spoken and worked on the switch. We had many adventures together especially on the company outings to London. Together with a few of ‘Les Girls’ from Abrafract who all started families at about the same time, we have kept in touch and been friends for 70 years. I was sad to hear of Freda’s passing and wish Andrew, Richard, Clare and their families love at this difficult time. Happy memories of Freda will remain with those of us who knew her for ever.

So sorry to hear of the sad loss of Freda, she was such a wonderful friend. Me, my husband Michael and family have very fond memories of Freda and Gil. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
I have so many happy memories of both Freda and Gil from living just across the road from them until my late teens. Freda and Gil were part of that vibrant community of young families on Welbeck Road who made the children feel safe and loved. I recall Freda reading avidly and sharing really interesting stories and anecdotes. She was always extremely knowledgeable about the history of Sheffield and the local community. I have such admiration for her independent spirit and the support she gave to local causes along with the guidance and love she gave her children and grandchildren. Freda will be sadly missed by everyone. Sending lots of love to Claire, Andrew , Richard, Wayne, Ryan Jane and Jessica and all Freda’s family and friends
