Ellen was a beautiful,kind and generous woman. loved by all who met her. Ellen passed away peacefully at St Luke's after a few weeks of the most amazing care. She deserved the very best and this was certainly offered by all the staff at the unit. Thoughts
Ellen. My friend and my rock. My memories are of endless clam and kindness, endless cups of coffee and patience. Always kind, caring and supportive in every way possible. I will never fill the gap you have left but I will remember all you gave and taught me for the rest of my life. Such a beautiful soul.

So many of these testimonies speak of Ellen's generous, open hearted nature and ours is no different. She welcomed me into her home in 1996 when I needed somewhere to live for a few months and in recent years that same home became a stop off for Rosie en route from school. We both remember the same warmth and welcome, the kettle on, an iced bun or biscuits at the ready. Simply lovely, her interest in others, generosity and that amazing way she had with children (like catnip in human form!) made her incredibly special. She leaves a hole which won't ever be filled but a legacy of kindness, generosity and decency that live on in her family. We were all the better for knowing you, Ellen xxx

Ellen - I will never forget you. From the very first moment I met you, when visiting Claire and Cathy during University holidays you welcomed me into your home and you have been a friend ever since. Your wonderful warm personality and your sense of fun will always stay with me. Since moving to Australia, I didn't get to Sheffield as often of course, but every time I visited the UK - I caught up with you!! Love you Ellen, Jamie
