David was an amazingly caring and generous person that always put his family first. He was a loving husband to Tina, Dad to Lee & Jono, Grandad to Alfie & Evie. David always showed his love for his 3 sisters Pauline, Carol and Christine which also carried onto his nieces/nephews - Steven, Christopher, Nathan, Nicole, Matthew and Hayley. He was diagnosed with lung and spine cancer in march 2018 just weeks before he was due to retire after 39 years working for the Sheffield Cleansing Department. Unbelievably he managed to fight the cancer for 18 months and during the latter months he had one goal, Which was that he could make his 40th wedding anniversary. Despite what he was told by doctors he managed this but sadly passed away on this day after spending the first few hours of their anniversary with the love of his life Tina. St Lukes were amazing with David and us as a family during this painful time at our home before finally being admitted into St Lukes Hospice for the last days. We cannot thank all the doctors, nurses and carers that helped along the way to make David as comfortable as possible.
