Betty Newman was an amazing strong willed lady who literally lived for her family. MY mum with the help of my late father Terry Newman helped me bring up my two children Sam & Katy. They have grown to be two very successful individuals because of mum, she was very proud of their achievements. Mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer on 1st June 2017.I brought her to live with me at my house so that I could care for her, after a couple of months her condition deteriorated and I could no longer care for her at home.Mum was taken to ST Luke's where she died on August the 28th 2017. The care that St Luke's provided for my mum and the support they gave my children and I was outstanding and I can't thank them enough.

    Thoughts

I worked with Betty when the NHS was a good place to work. We had fun but the work was always done. She gave me as much advice as my Mum, whether I wanted it or not. Thanks Bet you will be very much missed. Love Gill X

I am a long term friend of Betty and I know she was a very special person to her family but to all her friends she was a pleasure to know and I will miss her.

Betty was my older sister, and I shall miss her more than I can say. We did not see each other all that often as we lived fifty miles apart, but I always knew she was on the other end of the phone if I needed her. There will be a big gap in our life now that we have lost her, but I like to think that she is with our darling T,erry and our Mom and Dad, your ever loving Vie,John,Jill and Sarah
